French toast

ingredients: 8 slices of challah
3/4 cup milk, warmed
2 egg yolks
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1/8 tsp table salt
3/4 Tbsp vanilla extract
 
instructions: 1) Heat the bread in a 300° oven for 16 minutes, flipping halfway through.

2) Heat the milk in the microwave for 30 seconds in 10 second intervals.

3) Whisk the milk, egg yolks, sugar, cinnamon, melted butter, salt, and vanilla in a bowl until well blended. Transfer the liquid to the 9x13 baking dish. It's important that the liquid be placed in this dish in order to control how much is absorbed into the bread.

4) Heat pan to medium-high heat (5).

5) Soak the bread in the milk mixture for 15 seconds per side. Do not let it sit in the liquid too long. Allow excess milk to drip off and place bread in the on pan.

6) Gently press bread to ensure full contact with the pan.

7) Flip the bread after 3-4 minutes and continue for another 3-4 minutes on the other side.
