Hasu kinpira

New Years lotus root dish with shrimp.
 
ingredients: 2 medium hasu
2 Tbsp dried shrimp
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 Tbsp sugar
1 pinch chili pepper flakes
 
instructions: 1) Peal the hasu and slice in 1/4-inch pieces. Soak in cold water for 30 minutes.

2) Rince the dried shrimp and soak for 5 minutes. Cut the large shrimp and place on the side.

3) Sautee shrimp in oil over medium heat.

4) Add hasu and stir fry for 3 minutes.

5) Add sugar and cook another 5 minutes.

6) Add soy sauce and chili pepper flakes, cook 2 minutes.
