Karaage chicken

ingredients: 1.5 lb boneless chicken thighs, cut into 1.5-in pieces

3 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp sake
1 Tbsp ginger, grated
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1/8 tsp salt
3/4 tsp sugar

3/4 cup potato or corn starch
 
instructions: 1) Mix the soy sauce, sake, ginger, garlic, salt, sugar in a bowl.

2) Add the chicken to the sauce and mix thoroughly with your hands.

3) Refidgerate for 30 minutes.

4) Dust off as much sauce as possible and coat chicken in potato/corn starch.

5) Let the chicken sit on a plate for at least 30 minutes to allow the starch to soak up the sauce.

6) Set air fryer at 375. Brush the chicken with oil and place oil-side down in the air fryer basket. Brush oil on the other side of the chicken.

7) Cook for 5 minutes, flip, cook for another 5 minutes, stop.

8) Remove the basket from the air fryer and let it sit for 5 minutes

9) Raise the temperature to 400° and fry for another 5 minutes.
