Macaroni salad

Mac salad, a work in progress. The milk has just been reduced in half. The other recipe is better at this point.
 
ingredients: 1 1/2 cups macaroni
1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 carrot finely shredded
1/2 cup whole milk, divided 1/4 cup and 1/4 cup
1 cup mayonnaise, split in half
1/2 Tbsp brown sugar
3/4 tsp table salt
1 tsp pepper
 
instructions: 1) Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add macaroni and cook until very soft, 10-12 minutes. Drain, but DO NOT rinse. Return pasta to a large bowl and immediately toss with vinegar. Let cool ten minutes.

2) In another bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup maonnaise, 1/4 cups whole milk, brown sugar, salt, and pepper.

3) Once the macaroni has cooled for 10 minutes, toss with the mixed sauce and let cool to room temperature.

4) Whisk together the remaining 1/2 cup mayonnaise and 1/4 cup milk and pour over the macaroni salad. Fold in the carrot. The mixture will appear very wet. It will dry out in the fridge.

5) Chill in the fridge overnight.

6) Remove from fridge and mix in more sugar, salt, and pepper as needed.
